Keep a tally with someone you trust: a shared ledger that only the two of you hold. Value moves as signed pledges, and balances clear across the wider web of tallies through cooperative lifts — money as pure relationship credit, on the Sereus peer-to-peer fabric.

Taleus is an Android app. It's not on the Play Store yet — for now you can download the APK here and install it directly (a testing build).

Android only, for now. You may need to allow installing from your browser (“Install unknown apps”). This temporary link will be replaced by a Play Store listing once the app is published.

How it works

  1. Install the app — the only thing you enter is a name.
  2. Invite a partner with a link or QR code; accepting it opens a tally between you, on the terms and unit you both signed.
  3. Pay by pledging value on the tally — a signed entry both of you keep, in dollars, CHIPs, hours, or any unit the tally names.
  4. Clear balances automatically: lifts move value around loops of tallies so everyone drifts back toward the balance they want, and you can pay people you have no tally with.

No accounts and no central servers. Each tally lives on its two parties' own devices; rules are enforced by the shared ledger itself, and the keys are yours.

If someone sent you a Taleus invite link or QR code, install the app first, then open the link (or scan the code in the app) to review the offered terms and open the tally.

Background

Taleus is a reboot of MyCHIPs on Sereus. It is named for the tally stick — a notched stick split in two, one half for each party, so that neither could alter the record alone.
